Ear Stretching Timeline Planner
Plans earlobe stretching one size at a time, for each ear separately: every intermediate size, the earliest date for each step, a readiness check before each stretch and a dated log.
01How to use it
- Choose the ear (Left Ear or Right Ear). Copy Left Settings to Right copies a plan to the other ear.
- Select the current size, the target size and the date the current size was inserted.
- Press Generate Step-by-Step Plan. The plan lists every size between the two, with the waiting time before each step.
- Before each stretch, answer the readiness check, then log the stretch when the new size goes in.
02No skipped sizes
The plan always includes every intermediate size and refuses a jump that skips one. Half sizes (7g, 5g, 3g, 1g, 9 mm, 11 mm, 13 mm and so on) are included so each step is small. Sizes run from 18g (1.0 mm) to 2" (50.8 mm).
03Waiting times
The waiting time depends on the size being stretched from. A calendar date is only the earliest possible day: the readiness check decides.
| Current size | Wait before the next step |
|---|---|
| Below 3.2 mm (smaller than 8g) | 4 to 8 weeks |
| 3.2 mm to below 6.0 mm (8g to 3g) | 8 to 12 weeks |
| 6.0 mm to below 10 mm (2g to 9 mm) | 10 to 16 weeks |
| 10 mm to below 22 mm | 12 to 16 weeks |
| 22 mm and above | 16 to 24 weeks |
04Readiness check
All four points must be true before the next stretch: no pain, tenderness or stinging; no redness, swelling or heat; no discharge, crusting, bleeding or weeping skin; the current jewellery slides back and forth with no friction. Answering Not Ready Yet adds a 3-week rest to that ear's next date.
05When something goes wrong
The Downsize & Rehabilitation Planner covers a blowout, a micro-tear or bleeding, persistent throbbing pain, heat or redness, and thinning of the lower rim. It recommends a smaller size and a rest of 8 to 12 weeks with no stretching tension and sterile 0.9% sodium chloride saline soaks, then a check with an established professional piercer before stretching again. Apply Downsize to This Ear updates the plan.
For lobes at 2g (6.5 mm by the AWG standard; often sold as 6 mm) and above that are fully healed, the Naked Sleeping & Conditioning Protocol explains how to train the lobes to sleep without jewellery.
06Questions answered in the tool
The FAQ covers how to know the lobes are ready, why tapers are discouraged, what half sizes are for, daily cleaning, oils for lobe massage, lobe odour, what to do if a stretch hurts, bleeds or tears, and how to recognise and manage a blowout.
