Innovation Timeline

Revolutionizing body jewelry with BioFlex®
In the jewelry sector, Patrick recognized the need for a better material for body jewelry, one that would be safe for the body and prevent dental damage. After two years of R&D, this led him to develop BioFlex®, a flexible, highly certified, medical-grade plastic material now widely used in the industry.

Crafting Comfort: Patrick's custom jewelry collection for optimal fit and skin-friendly piercings
He registered with the Sheffield Assay Office in the UK under his own initials “PP” and created his own line of high-end body jewelry — 18-karat gold, platinum, medical-grade titanium, and surgical steel with genuine diamonds and semi-precious stones.

Finding solutions to help breakthroughs and institutions
Patrick found solutions to resolve disputes between employees and companies, and between schools and students. The “Hide-it” range from BioFlex® was created with retention devices for the nose, lips, and ear cartilage — helping the piercing industry once again.

From art to cinema and fashion: the craftsman of titanium and Swarovski
Patrick was contacted by film studios to develop specific titanium parts for the famous film Wallace & Gromit. He also custom made titanium parts for Duffel coats for famous Saville Row high-end shops in London.

Extension of the BioFlex® range to help with pregnancy
The safe and flexible BioFlex® banana jewelry became a success in the largest British retail chain, “ARGOS”. The belly bar was designed to allow pregnant women to keep their piercing securely in place throughout pregnancy.

BioFlex® attracts worldwide attention…
Patrick’s passion for BioFlex® led to calls and visits from the biggest body jewelry distributors around the world who put BioFlex® in their catalogues, bringing the brand to global attention.

Patrick creates our exclusive process for fixing plastic crystals without glue
“Knowing that glue contains cyanide, it was impossible to bond jewelry to any material used in body jewelry. We developed our proprietary thermal process to fix crystals into plastic without glue — safer for the body and now an industry standard for hygiene.”

BioFlex® First antimicrobial jewelry well ahead of Pandemic!
With BioFlex® Jewelry EURL in France, Patrick introduced antimicrobial body jewelry based on Silver Ion technology well before any pandemic, developed with the University of Dijon laboratory.

BioFlex® Perfume: Goodbye bad odors, hello comfort and hygiene!
Based on the latest advances in micropore technology, the BioFlex® Fragrance range was created with leading perfumers, eliminating unpleasant skin odors associated with jewelry.

World-renowned scientist Yves Handrich tracks penguins with BioFlex®
Scientist Yves Handrich of the CNRS contacted Patrick to manufacture specific BioFlex® pieces for penguins — part of a GPS migration study. BioFlex® reduced heat transfer underwater and eliminated the need for metals, as it is a safe, medical-grade material.

Pushing the boundaries of security: creation of the “Push-Fit system”
Patrick’s concern for safety led him to create the “push-fit system”, which aims to separate the two parts of body jewelry upon impact — preventing skin damage in the event of an accident.

Introducing the multi-purpose tube system — Say goodbye to size restrictions!
The “Multi-Purpose Tube” system allows people to use externally threaded, internally threaded, and snap-on jewelry on a single piece that can be cut to any length, solving many problems for the consumer.

From Tattooing to Sustainability: Patrick Found Poli International Co., Ltd
Patrick and his son Frédéric Poli founded Poli International Co Ltd, dedicated to improving and innovating tattoo and piercing products — using recyclable plastics and developing bio-friendly materials.

From multi-purpose tubes to 12-time award-winning toys!
The multi-purpose tube concept inspired an American company to create Wacky Links, an innovative toy range that has won 12 awards and was featured on Fox News as one of the seven best Christmas stocking recommendations.

Innovating again in the piercing process with the “Poli Clamp”
Patrick and Frédéric designed the “Poli Clamp” in 2017, featuring a break point on the clamp’s teeth for use with a rubber band or plastic teeth for holding skin during piercing, plus improved ergonomics for both piercer and client.

Ink your style with new “tattooable” silicone jewelry displays
We introduced the first “tattooable” silicone body parts and the first tattooable silicone ear plugs, as well as a wide range of innovative tattooable silicone body jewelry displays.

Introducing Push-Fit discs to combat bumps and keloids!
Patrick and Frédéric revisited their “Push-Fit” discs to introduce a blend of medical-grade soft plastic, sterilized with EO gas, helping pierced individuals combat “bumps and keloids”.

“Anti-scratch clips”: avoid scratching your jewelry and increase hygiene!
Our “anti-scratch clips” changed the habit of using metal to hold body jewelry on displays, avoiding scratches that create dirt traps for bacteria — another step for better hygiene.

New comfortable grips and over-grips for tattoo artists!
Innovative sterilized disposable grips and over-grips in two versions: high-resilience foam for most machine brands, and a dual-material version with advanced thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) for added comfort and ergonomic design.

Exclusive bi-material cables for tattoo machines with a twist!
Patrick and Frédéric created a new range of RCA and specialized cables for tattoo machines. The bi-material connectors are injection-molded with rigid material and overmolded with a safe, advanced thermoplastic elastomer for a smooth, flexible cable that moves with the artist.

Revolutionizing tattooing: the POLINK eco-friendly ink dispensing system
The POLINK System — two years in development — simplifies tattooing and is compatible with most cartridge needles, machine brands, and all tattoo inks. It saves time, reduces disruption, and minimizes ink and plastic waste, making tattooing more environmentally friendly.
